Snakes

Best Bedtime Story Ever!

I recently heard this story about a little five year old boy.
His parents got him a snake for his past birthday, and he loved the snake so much. After he had the snake for a while, and had proved he could be somewhat responsible for it, he asked his parents if it could sleep in his bed with him. Since it didn't seem like that big of a deal, the parents allowed it.

Soon after, the snake started having difficulty eating. It wouldn't eat any of the food the boy or his parents tried to feed it. After about a week goes by with the snake not eating, they took the snake to the vet. They shared the little they knew with the vet, that the snake had stopped eating. The vet suddenly got really tense and told the parents very seriously, "You have to get rid of this snake right away."

The parents were surprised at the severity of the vet's tone and couldn't help but ask why?

The only response they got was, "The snake is starving itself to make enough room to eat your son."

Parental heart attack?
Probably.

Biblical way to turn this verse into a threat to your enemies:
Jeremiah 8:17
"Indeed, I am about to send snakes among you, poisonous vipers that cannot be charmed. They will bite you. This is the LORD's declaration."

I'll probably make a fortune on this one in the world of Children's Literature...
